Writing workshops

This April was released in the magazine Toumaï a story I did on writing workshops. As this publication is geared primarily to the immigrant, spoke with several writers and foreign students on their experience in the field. Among the former are Leonardo Valencia (Ecuador), Julio Espinosa (Chile) and Juan Carlos Méndez Guédez (Venezuela). Learn to write fiction

Writing and reading are two pleasures suitable for all audiences and ages. Many people write poems, short stories, novels and left to die in oblivion because they do not know what to do with them. The writing workshops are an option for those who dare to share and want to hear other people say about them. In these educational spaces, the literature is the excuse to stimulate the imagination group. Also to have fun and get to know yourself better. Ruben A.

This workshop seeks to teach students the tools and resources they work with narrative writers. It combines theoretical lessons with practical exercises. Among the issues addressed are how to build a character, how to operate the point of view or what correction possibilities offers a text. In addition to the theoretical, students receive weekly a slogan that acts as a trigger to write. Class after class read aloud the exercises and listen to feedback from the teacher and colleagues argue what they liked and what not. With the criticisms and suggestions for improvement received, the students rewrite the text and submit it again.

Rather than the theoretical, learning rests heavily on the dialogue between the author and his readers. Hence, one of the most cost to students in the beginning to lose the fear to speak and write about what they really want. Who more and who less should bring down some internal taboo.
