The Setsubun (节 分 せつ ぶん ) is a event held each year around February 3. The word " Setsubun" means "separation of Seasons" and indeed, there are 4 "Setsubun" a year. But when we say " Setsubun "we understand as Sestubun February, which is the separation of Winter and Spring.

the day of Setsubun , we celebrated with the Mamemaki ( 豆 まき まめ まき ). Mame ( 豆 まめ ) means soybeans, Maki ( まき ) means "take." Normally in each family, we decided a Oni (鬼 お に ) which is a devil and who plays that role has been to put a devil mask. The rest of the family, take soy made the Oni, saying " Oni-wa-soto, Fuku-wa-uchi! " (鬼 は 外 , 福 は 内 ). That sentence means "Fuera Devil, Between Fortuna!.

After taking soy, soy is eaten, the same number of your age (a soy for one year of your life). This will bring luck and health for all year.
